Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse
As purveyors of design we often get wrapped up in the search for the exquisite, and the day to day activities of bringing a project from inception to fruition. This past year has been fantastic for both Augustus Jones and interior design in Toronto, and we thought we would take a moment to look back on a few of our projects.
Introducing international brands like TON and Lapalma to a local eatery, and further afield to the Calgary Airport, shows us that excellent design sensibilities are country wide, building excitement for what we have in store for 2018.
Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse
The Tolix A chairs were the perfect addition to the Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse on Vancouver Island. When approached by this family-owned agro-tourism property we knew we had to find the perfect design pieces to align with their ethos of community and heart. We seamlessly incorporated the famed Tolix Marais A chairs designed by Xavier Pauchard in 1934 into the orchard. The chairs themselves are known for their hard working and raw aesthetic, a sentiment that marries well with the organic nature of the working Ciderhouse and farm.
Miami Beach Edition Hotel
The Miami Beach Edition Hotel by Ian Schrager boasts a curated mix of space with varying design elements seen throughout the property. Augustus Jones was tasked with providing unique pieces for their outdoor dining. Deauville dining chairs by contemporary designer Vincent Sheppard as well as custom sofas were chosen to outfit the space.
PUBLIC Hotel NYC
Continuing our relationship with Ian Schrager , Augustus Jones welcomed the opportunity to be part of the hotelier’s new venture PUBLIC at 215 Chrystie Street in New York City. PUBLIC takes the Luxury For All notion with a focus on style and accessibility. The Monte Carlo dining chairs by Vincent Sheppard were included in the eclectic mix of furnishings, resulting in an overall contemporary style that cannot be categorised.
Calgary Airport
We were pleased to partake in the revamp of the Calgary Airport. YYC now boasts Merano counter stools and side chairs by TON as well as chic Brio high and low tables by Lapalma
Balzac’s Coffee
Balzac’s Coffee and it’s European style cafes, have become synonymous with relaxed chic in the Toronto city centre. Augustus Jones brought that feeling to life with a mix of dining chairs, and furnishings to transport patrons to the terrasses of Paris. The authentic selection includes bistro chairs and stools by TON (the creator of bended beech wood and embossed seats in 1834) and marble top bistro tables. Casagrande chairs, and Vincent Sheppard sides chairs and sofas evoke the laissez-faire attitude, perfect for sipping coffee and catching up with friends.

Gare de L'est
Augustus Jones recently worked with Gare de L’est in Toronto’s east end neighbourhood
of Leslieville. Working closely with the proprietors we extensively went through our portfolio to consider leading contemporary brands and new trends alike. TON side chairs and counter stools were selected in the end for the launch as well as SM France Tables.
